The importance of standardized EMSAT tests

Recently, and especially at the beginning of this year 2022, the importance of standardized EmSAT tests has become increasingly important within the UAE due to several reasons that we will mention briefly, then we will talk about how to obtain an EmSAT certificate:

• According to the plan set for the National Standardized Testing System (EMSAT), the EMSAT will replace the CEPA test for admission to public universities .
• Private universities can also adopt AMSAT as part of the student admission process as an alternative to IELTS and TOEFL tests , which are prerequisites for admission of high school students to private higher education institutions within the UAE.
• The EmSAT test currently covers English , Arabic , Mathematics and Physics for national Grade 12 students in public and private schools, regardless of the curricula taught in these schools.
• As for expatriate students, the standardized EmSAT test is only applied in government and private schools that use the English language curriculum of the UAE Ministry of Education.
• Soon, the EmSAT English test for grade 12 students will replace CEPA as the approved admission test for UAE universities .
• The Ministry of Education within the United Arab Emirates gives universities the freedom to use the results of the AMSAT in Arabic, Mathematics and Physics for twelfth grade students as they see fit.

What is the EMSAT test? And why is it important in the UAE?

• The EmSAT test in the Emirates is a set of national standardized tests conducted electronically in the subjects of mathematics, science, Arabic and English according to the UAE national standards in education. These tests contribute to determining the levels of student performance, and help teachers, schools and the Ministry in identifying problems in the curricula and problems that students have to determine how to provide appropriate assistance to them using scientific educational methods, as well as developing accurate and appropriate plans for continuous modification and improvement in the educational process.
• EmSAT was first approved in the UAE in 2017 by the UAE Ministry of Education , which officially implemented the Emirates Standardized Test ( EmSAT ) in schools in the UAE.

The Emirates Standardized Test consists of three sections:

• Baseline Tests :

It is to measure students' readiness to learn after the student completes the kindergarten stage.

• Amsat sequential test

This test is applied to the fourth, sixth, eighth and tenth grades with the aim of measuring reading and writing skills in Arabic and English languages, as well as mathematics.

• Achieve Test:

They are standardized tests for university admission at the secondary level.

How to issue a certificate of AMSAT

If you want to issue an AMSAT certificate, the website of the UAE Ministry of Education has published the procedures required to obtain a standard AMSAT certificate, which are:

• Go to the school or designated centers
• Log on to the Ministry’s website moe.gov.ae
• Select electronic services
• Select Service Gallery
• Choose the Emirates Standardized Test Certificate Issuance Service for non-12th grade students, or choose the Achievement Service for 12th grade students, or the equivalency service for university admission.
• Login
• Fill in all data and requirements
• Attach the required documents and attach a copy of the ID
• Pay the service fee which is 15 dirhams.
• Then wait until the request is completed by the concerned employees.
• Complete the transaction and an electronic message including submitting a request to issue a certificate officially through the approved channels, including all the required data such as a correct and valid ID number.

Tips to help you issue an AMSAT certificate easily

• Make sure to complete the AMSAT registration process when you register to take the exam.
• Print the appointment card and test details before each test and read all instructions on it.
• Contact your school coordinator to consider the registration process.
• Be sure to review the AMSAT exam models for the subjects covered in the exam, which can be found on the Ministry’s website or by participating in special qualification courses and mock exams.
• Make sure to be at the test center at least 15 minutes before the test starts.
• Make sure to bring your Emirates ID and a hard copy of your exam date and venue card.
• Review the answers to all exam sections.
• Inform the administrator if you encounter any technical failure during the exam.
• Make sure to register all certificate issuance data and pay the fees in advance.
• The exam result will be issued 3 weeks after the date of the EMSAT exam , and then you will receive a text message confirming its issuance.
• Please note that cell phones and photography are not allowed inside the hall.
• Please note that if you miss the exam for a non-exceptional reason (illness, emergency, etc.), you will not be allowed to register again. The absent student must send a re-exam request to the National and International Examinations Directorate to explain the detailed reason for the absence, along with a medical report or certificate from a government hospital certified by the Ministry of Health and Community Protection or the Health Authority for review and approval, and then inform you of the new exam date.
• Test scores will not be counted for cheating or attempted cheating. Registration or attendance for other tests in the current academic year is prohibited.
• Home students register through Continuing Education Centers and Customer Happiness Centers, while continuing education students register for adult education through continuing education centers.

What is the required score on the Emirates Standardized Test for admission to public and private universities, colleges and higher education institutions?

Students should contact their preferred admissions institution to ensure requirements and minimum grades as they vary from institution to institution.

How long are the EMSAT test results valid?

EMSAT test results are valid for 18 months from the test day and the EMSAT certificate remains valid for use during this period.

Do Emirati students have to take the EmSAT English language test if they have a high score on the IELTS or TOEFL test ?

Yes, all UAE national students in Grade 12 must apply for the four core subjects (Arabic, English, Mathematics and Physics ). Exceptions are made for non-national students in a private international school or who will be completing their studies outside the UAE and do not require equivalency.
