As we mentioned earlier, the EMSAT exam for high school and university admission is the most difficult, and in this article we will learn about the EMSAT exam for the English language.

How to succeed in the AMSAT exam?

The EMSAT exam is based on practical training of skills, so the focus is on the most important skills and basics found in each subject according to its basics.

The same applies to the IELTS English exam, as the exam is a practical test to measure students’ language skills, such as grammar, sentence structure, and flexibility in using the language.

In addition to the amount of vocabulary that the AMSAT student is required to know in order to be able to pass the exam , it requires a deep understanding in addition to extensive knowledge and complete familiarity with most of the language’s vocabulary.

In order for a student to be able to pass an English exam, he must train with a specialized trainer who is fully familiar with the AMSAT English exam , whether it is knowledge of the exam system, the questions, or how to answer them.

The aim of this test is to measure the four language skills of students: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Therefore, students are trained during their study period on these skills to deal with long paragraphs and different vocabulary, as students are trained to write various and long paragraphs to learn how to construct sentences and deal with new and varied vocabulary and how to use it, in addition to practicing grammatical rules.

The student can then practice reading and understanding long texts and paragraphs, guessing missing vocabulary, and having a conversation with others to hone students’ oral skills and correct linguistic and phonetic errors and prevent them from being repeated.

To succeed in the AMSAT English exam, you must adhere to several steps:

1. Get a specialized trainer

You should look for a specialized entity or trainer with comprehensive experience and knowledge of this exam, to help you train for this exam.

2. Know the exam details

It is important to know the exam system before starting it, and the type of questions, in addition to practicing previous exams to learn the type of questions and the exam system.

3. Organize time for studying

It is important to follow a system or plan to study for this test, and to organize a schedule for studying and follow-up.

4. Practice exam models

The AMSAT exam may be a bit difficult if you do not practice it and the question system used in it, so it is important to practice it, especially previous exam models.

It is important to be familiar with the question system used for better training and to know how to solve the exam and the required answers; such as practicing intermittent reading, practicing new vocabulary, practicing daily conversations and writing them.

How many questions are there in the English exam?

The AMSAT English exam consists of 110 questions. The types of questions in the AMSAT English exam vary between multiple choice, fill in the blank, matching, essay writing, reading, and reordering sentences. These questions, including the essay, must be solved within 135 minutes.

It consists of five sections: grammar, vocabulary, reading long texts, reading texts in context, and writing. Most parts of the questions and their alternatives are arranged randomly.

Section One: Rules

In this section, the questions are multiple choice, in addition to forming a sentence using several words and vocabulary.

Section Two: Vocabulary

The purpose of this section of the test is to measure students' knowledge of the most commonly used vocabulary that students should know.

Section Three: Reading Texts in Context

In this section, the texts are divided into two parts. The paragraph is placed after removing some words from it and placing them in a box above the text. Then the student must drag the word from the top and place it in the space left in the paragraph.

Section Four: Reading Long Texts

In this section, there are three texts to be read, consisting of approximately 450 words, and then questions related to this text are answered.

Section Five: Writing

In this section, the student is required to write one essay of approximately 200 to 250 words, and then students are evaluated on the basis of writing skills.

What is the passing score for the AMSAT exam?

A decision was issued stating that the unconditional direct admission score in the EMSAT must not be less than 1100 for bachelor’s programs, and 1400 for master’s and doctoral programs.

But as a general assessment of the exam, if the student gets 850 points or less, this means that the student is poorly qualified or that his knowledge of the language is limited and he needs intensive training to master the language skills and how to use the language. As for the student getting a score of 850-1600, this means that the student is of average proficiency. If the student gets 1625-2000 points, this means that the student is of high proficiency and has been able to master the English language to a great extent and use the language skills smoothly.

Does IELTS replace yesterdays?

Universities usually require international standardized test scores such as IELTS and TOEFL for application or admission.

However, there was an objection to this from parents whose children took the EMSAT English exam and got high scores, and they demanded that the EMSAT exam replace the IELTS and TOEFL.

After that, the Ministry of Education issued a decision not to take the IELTS and TOEFL exams if the student has a high score in the EmSAT exam that qualifies him for admission to the chosen university, in addition to obligating universities to accept the EmSAT UAE National Standardized Test (NST) exam certificate.

Especially after the complaints submitted to the Ministry due to some private universities rejecting the EMSAT certificate or the National Standardized Test, as it was announced that all national universities accept the EMSAT exam certificate and do not request an alternative.

Finally, the Emirates Standardized Tests (ESAT) are a non-profit national program that only helps and supports students to reach their desired goals. As long as the student completes his education at national universities, he does not need to take external standardized tests.

The EMSAT exam serves an organized educational system whose goal is for students to acquire sufficient skills and information required to enable them to proceed and advance in this system, such as building individual support plans. It is not desirable for a student who was educated abroad to enter a national college subject to the government education system, and vice versa.

Thus, we have shed light on some important concepts, regarding the problem that occurred regarding whether IELTS can replace AMSAT, in Emirati education in general, and in public and private universities in particular.
