What are the university admission policies in the UAE?

Students are admitted to the United Arab Emirates University based on an assessment of current academic qualifications and the educational capabilities of the academic programs that the student has undergone in the twelfth grade before university . Admission to the United Arab Emirates University is based on the admission policy issued by the university annually and the criteria specified for each category of UAE citizens who are high school students from previous years .

• It allows the student the opportunity to obtain the requirements of the college he wants to join, such as EMSAT tests and others, during one semester .
• If the student does not obtain the requirements for admission to the desired bachelor’s program within the specified period of one semester, the educational administration responsible for him shall undertake the task of enrolling him in the bachelor’s program appropriate to his qualifications .
• A student applying for admission to a bachelor’s degree must not have previously been dismissed from an educational institution for disciplinary or other academic reasons .

How to get direct admission to UAE University?

The United Arab Emirates University has specified on its official portal the basic conditions for accepting a student’s application to join it directly, which are as follows:

• The student must have a UAE 12th grade certificate or its equivalent, provided that no more than three years have passed since obtaining the certificate when submitting the application .

• The student must obtain a score of (1250) or higher in the Emirates Standardized Test ( EmSAT ) in English or its equivalent in TOEFL ITP (525) or IBT (70) or a score of (5.5) in the IELTS test .

• Obtaining a minimum score of (900) in the Emirates Standardized Test ( EmSAT ) in Arabic or its equivalent, with the exception of specializations that are primarily offered in Arabic, where the student is required to obtain a score of no less than (1100) in the Emirates Standardized Test ( EmSAT ) in Arabic or its equivalent .

• Students who are graduates of private schools and do not follow government curricula, and students who have obtained a high school certificate issued by institutions outside the country, must have their high school certificates equated by the Ministry of Education in the country .

• The applicant must not have been dismissed from any other educational institution for academic or disciplinary reasons .

• Students admitted to the University may be granted credits for some university courses based on academic achievement results while studying at the secondary level in internationally recognized systems such as Advanced Placement ( AP ), International Baccalaureate ( IB ), General Certificate of Education ( GCE ) , or any other programs recognized by the University .

• Students are admitted competitively to the United Arab Emirates University . Conditionally admitted students are placed in one of the university's colleges within the capacity of each college, and meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to the university .

• Applicants wishing to obtain a second bachelor's degree must submit a copy of the first academic degree, issued by a recognized institution, with a cumulative GPA of not less than 5 ( provided that the transcript is sent by mail directly to the university's admissions office ).

• If the student is unable to meet the admission requirements of the college to which he was initially assigned within one semester, the university will transfer him to one of the colleges that suits his qualifications and within the capacity of each college .
