It should be noted that concealment has several levels, the highest of which is if the letter ta’, dal, or ta’ comes after the tanween or the silent noon and if the letter qaf or kaf comes after it, and the middle level is in order for the remaining letters.

    Elongation is known in language as an increase, and technically it is the lengthening of the sound with one of the three elongation letters, which are the waw with a damma before it, the alif with a fatha before it, and the ya with a sukoon before it. The separate extension is defined as the prolongation of the sound of one of the three extension letters by the amount of two, three, four, or five movements, and in the event that the letters come between two separate words and the extension letter occurs at the end of the first word and a hamza comes at the beginning of the second word.
    • Continuous extension: It is also called the obligatory extension and is defined as lengthening the sound of one of the three extension letters by four, five, or six movements, provided that the extension letter appears in one word and is followed by the hamza, and is known as lengthening by two movements.
    • Substitutional extension: It is called permissible extension and is defined as prolonging the sound of one of the three extension letters by two movements. Substitutional extension occurs if the extension letter is a substitute, provided that a hamza precedes it.
    • Necessary extension: It is defined as extending the sound of one of the extension letters by six movements. Necessary extension is required if an original sukoon comes after the extension letter. It should be noted that necessary extension is divided into several types, which are: heavy word extension, light word extension, light letter extension, and heavy letter extension.
    • Accidental extension of sukoon: It is defined as the lengthening of the sound of one of the three extension letters if an accidental sukoon occurs after it due to stopping. The letter can be extended by two, four, or six movements when stopping only.

    The silent meem is defined as the meem whose silence is established by connection and pause. The silent meem has three rules that can be explained as follows:
