Everyone has heard of the Emirates Standardized Test (ESM) or Emirates IELTS, but what is it? And why is it so important and popular?
Okay, let's learn about the standardized EMSAT exam and its stages.
The EMSAT exam is a set of electronic tests that are nationally approved in the UAE to measure students’ results throughout most of its educational stages and in almost all subjects.
However, this does not mean that the EMSAT exam meets the national educational quality standards of the country only, but it is also internationally recognized.
The aim of the EMSAT exam is to assess the extent of students’ readiness to move to advanced educational levels, and the extent to which they have acquired the basic skills and information necessary to qualify them for the educational course they have chosen for themselves.
The mission of these tests is to support and assist students, starting from determining the field and specialization in which they want to achieve themselves, and providing them with all the necessary means and information, until they achieve themselves and fully qualify them to achieve the future they dream of in the specialization they want.
However, the EMSAT test is not only tasked with qualifying students, measuring their knowledge, or even evaluating their skills and performance to know their readiness for the next educational stages. Rather, the EMSAT test also evaluates the educational system itself, but how?
The EMSAT test is very important for the country because it simply measures the efficiency and effectiveness of the educational system in helping students acquire the information and skills required in each field.
This is done by evaluating the students’ performance and grades. If the grades of most students are high, this means that the educational system has succeeded in qualifying the students and providing them with what they need to succeed. However, if most of the evaluations were not good, this means that there are gaps in the educational system.
Therefore, the system needs to be improved and developed, and this helps decision-makers fill these gaps, by identifying the most important weaknesses and main strengths of students, and helping to deal with them in a way that serves each student, and building individual support plans that suit each student in all areas.
Thus, we have explained a brief overview of the concept of the EMSAT exam and its most important objectives, but is the EMSAT exam concerned with a specific educational stage or a specific specialization?
In fact, no, the EMSAT exam is taken at most educational levels and in most subjects and specializations, and it is divided into three stages: the first is the basic stage, in which children applying for the first grade stage, i.e. children in the kindergarten stage, are evaluated.
Children are tested in basic skills such as reading, writing and arithmetic.
Second: The sequential stage; this stage targets students in educational stages 4, 6, 8 and 10.
The following subjects are chosen: Arabic, English, Mathematics and Science.
Third, the completion stage, which in turn is divided into two stages: the first is the completion of 12
It is a stage equivalent to high school, in which students are tested in grade 12.
Second stage of achievement
Which is more related to the stages of university progress, where you apply for university programs and it is equivalent to the aptitude tests for university admission in different specializations.
During the achievement phase, students are tested in the following subjects: Arabic, English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Computer Science.
Of course, the subjects vary according to the specialization, and the degree of difficulty varies according to the current educational stage.
As we have seen, there are some core subjects for students starting from the early stages, but there are also some subjects that are related to the specialization.
In this article, we will talk about one of these subjects, which is biology or the AMSAT biology exam.

- Proficient level: Students at this stage receive a score ranging from 1100 to 1475, which means that the student has been able to learn all the basics and his acceptance rate in most universities that specialize in biology is high.
- Intermediate level: Students’ scores at this level range from 900 to 1075, which is considered the minimum for admission to university programs specializing in biology.
- Beginner Level: At this level, students receive a score between 700 and 875, and it indicates that they are not sufficiently familiar with the biology subject and that they need to learn more information and skills necessary to deal with this subject.
- Level in need of improvement: This refers to students who obtain a grade point average ranging from 500 to 675, and refers to students who lack some of the necessary basics in the subject and need support plans in it.
